Desperate Housewives and John Tucker Must Die star Jesse Metcalfe fell from a second story balcony on Sunday, November 9 in Monaco. According to People magazine, the 29-year-old star was there helping to host the World Music Awards. Metcalfe was sitting on the ledge of the balcony at the club Jimmy'z when he accidentally fell backwards. After falling 40 feet from the ledge, Metcalfe was knocked unconscious and rushed to Grasse hospital where he underwent an X-ray and brain scan.
The star's London-based rep assures that Metcalfe received a clean bill of health, and only incurred a fractured leg bone from the fall. “It was a very scary experience for him and those of us who saw him. It was a nasty fall. He was found face down on the floor. . . . It could easily have been fatal.” The rep also assures reporters that despite Metcalfe's recent stint in rehab in March 2007 for “alcohol issues,” the actor only had a glass of champagne and it was not a factor of the fall.
