The Hallmark Hall of Fame production "Head of the Class" Jimmy Wolk plays a young man with Tourette's syndrome who is determined to be a successful teacher.
It's an upward battle because he erupts with a bark-like noise every few seconds (not a cuss word, that's some other type of malady, we are told in the film, based on the book by the real subject, Brad Cohen).
He erupts so much his teachers get angry with him as a child. His parents lose patience with him as well. And as an adult, potential employers mostly can't see past it either.
But to sell the movie, the promos for the film (at least the ones showing Sunday night) don't have him erupting at all. As if CBS is keeping us from the handicap that the movie is telling us to see past.
It's just standard issue network promo bait and switch. Like pretending that Patricia Heaton, rarely seen in the film, actually "stars" in it.
