Washington (AP) The chiefs of the Detroit's Big Three automakers have made their case for a $34 billion federal bailout to the Senate Banking Committee. MUMBAI, India (AP) Police in India say "there was no attack," but the sound of gunfire sent security forces swarming over the international airport in New Delhi early Friday. The country's airports are on high alert, after fresh warnings of possible attacks. Police say it appears a handful of shots were fired, but it's not being considered a terrorist incident.
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says Pakistan's leaders know what's at stake following the terror attack in neighboring India. On a trip to Islamabad, Rice says the Pakistanis acknowledge they have a duty to evict terrorists from their territory.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) A Massachusetts prosecutor says those behind an October gun show should have known it was too dangerous for an 8-year-old to fire a Micro Uzi submachine gun. The boy accidentally shot himself in the head. Three men and the gun club where the event was held have been indicted for involuntary manslaughter.
BOSTON (AP) Actor Paul Benedict has died. He's perhaps best known for playing English neighbor Harry Bentley on the 70s sitcom "The Jeffersons." His brother says Benedict was found dead Monday on Martha's Vineyard. Authorities are still investigating the cause. He was 70.
